Good Nutrition Achieved!

We have achieved the goal of getting over 30 kids at St. Benedict, Payatas out of malnutrition. Feeding Program Chair, Alexa Isabella Kahn has made it her advocacy to maintain the good nutrition of the kids by encouraging the parents of the children to plant more vegetables and to incorporate more greens into the children’s meals even at home. Christmas Celebrations at St. Benedict

The MEALenium Project had two Christmas get-togethers this year with St. Benedict, one for the study hall kids and another for the feeding center children. Philip Sebastian Belmonte and Alexa Isabella Kahn organized all the parties and the donations for the Christmas presents for all the kids and the parent volunteers. 1000 meals

MANILA, Philippines — Teenagers leading The MEALenium Project partnered with various stakeholders to push for a school-based feeding initiative for undernourished children. The MEALenium Project co-founders Joshua Emmanuel Tan and Philip Sebastian Belmonte signed an agreement with  Jollibee Group Foundation, Department of Education Quezon City Schools Division and Lupang Pangako Elementary School to benefit close to 600 malnourished public  elementary students. July 2016 Update

We are happy to report that as of July 2016, 15 out of the 28 kids in the feeding program are now of normal weight. That’s 53% of the children in the program out of malnutrition.  We are working on getting 2 more kids to complete 30 kids this month. With 5 more months remaining this year, we hope to reach 80% out of malnutrition by December.

February 2016 – Update

We have new kids to replace those that dropped out of the program. We welcome Pamela, Athens, Lheniel, Althea, CJ and Mark to the feeding center. February’s activities included  the kids making Valentine cards for our sponsors, finger painting, reading, writing and learning how to write the alphabet for the smaller ones.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Block Screening

It is truly heartwarming to see that the excited group of cinema-goers did more than just watch the much-awaited Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie; they also helped feed hungry children in Payatas.
