Good Nutrition Achieved!

We have achieved the goal of getting over 30 kids at St. Benedict, Payatas out of malnutrition. Feeding Program Chair, Alexa Isabella Kahn has made it her advocacy to maintain the good nutrition of the kids by encouraging the parents of the children to plant more vegetables and to incorporate more greens into the children’s meals even at home. Helping Kids Achieve Better Grades in School

Weekly tutorials are sponsored by The MEALenium Project to aid children in Payatas with their lessons and school homework.  Isaac Theodore Siy, Tutorials Program Chairperson organizes weekly Math, Reading and English lessons for the children in the area. Outstanding children in the program are also assisted to get scholarship or financial aid to help them complete their education.

Study Hall – Teaching through Lego

More kids in Payatas are flocking to the study hall in St. Benedict built by The MEALenium Project because of their new teaching tool – Lego. This idea was conceptualized by The MEALenium Project founder Philip Sebastian “Basti” Belmonte. Christmas Celebrations at St. Benedict

The MEALenium Project had two Christmas get-togethers this year with St. Benedict, one for the study hall kids and another for the feeding center children. Philip Sebastian Belmonte and Alexa Isabella Kahn organized all the parties and the donations for the Christmas presents for all the kids and the parent volunteers. Study Hall Now Open!

We are happy to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary in Payatas! To start our celebration, a mass was officiated by Fr. Bernardo of Payatas Orione Foundation. We then proceeded to the feeding center where we had a gift waiting for the children. As our anniversary gift to the community, we opened the feeding center to be used as a Study Hall for children ages 8-12 every Saturday, 9-11am. Basketball Sports Clinic 2017

July 2016 Update

We are happy to report that as of July 2016, 15 out of the 28 kids in the feeding program are now of normal weight. That’s 53% of the children in the program out of malnutrition.  We are working on getting 2 more kids to complete 30 kids this month. With 5 more months remaining this year, we hope to reach 80% out of malnutrition by December.

First Sports Clinic for Payatas

Since it’s Easter break, we were able to take some time to play with the kids at the feeding center this week. The kids enjoyed playing with the home-made clay we brought. It was nice to see them unleash their creativity and simply enjoy!
