One of The MEALenium Project’s flagship projects aside from the daily feeding is it’s Kumon tutorial center, which has now expanded to include English and even Music lessons! The MEALenium Project’s Tutorial Program Chairperson, Isaac Siy has been actively fundraising to sponsor 60 children for the weekly weekend tutorials. Isaac has raised over P60,000 to cover the students’ Kumon worksheets, books and allowances for tutors.

Aside from sponsoring the weekend tutorials, Isaac has also included the 60 students as beneficiaries for regular food packs and school supplies distribution. Other special activities such as seminars and health talks are also part of Isaac Siy’s program for the Payatas community. All these efforts ensure that deserving children who have no access to conducive learning environments at home or no money for their daily needs (food or school supplies) are able to continue studying. This is an advocacy that Mealenium Project feels strongly about as they know that the only way to get out of the cycle of poverty is to be able to ensure that deserving Payatas children get a shot at education.

Teaching kids from 12 to 16 years old Kumon, English and Music has been an advocacy of Isaac Siy for the tutorial center.

Guitar lessons are also a fun way to teach young kids in Payatas!
